Programming a New Key for a 2018 Toyota RAV4 Using Autel IM608 II

If you have lost all the keys to your 2018 Toyota RAV4 with keyed ignition, follow these steps to program a new key with Autel IM608 II. This process is applicable for vehicles in the Middle East and USA.

Steps to Program a New Key

  1. Setup the Autel IM608 II
    • Connect the Autel IM608 II to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
    • Navigate to the IMMO function on the device.
    • Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  2. Vehicle Selection
    • Select Toyota from the list of manufacturers.
    • Choose Automatic selection to read the vehicle information.
    • Confirm the vehicle information and click OK.
  3. Access the Control Unit
    • Select the Control unit option.
    • Choose Immobilizer (H 8A/8E).
  4. Immobilizer Reset (All Keys Lost)
    • Select Immobilizer reset (all keys lost).
    • Ensure the vehicle’s door remains open during the learning process.
  5. Key Registration
    • The device will prompt you to enter the number of keys you want to register. Enter 1.
    • Follow the instructions on the screen:
      • Turn the ignition off.
      • Turn the ignition on.
      • Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
      • Turn the ignition on.
      • Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
  6. Master Key Learning
    • The Autel IM608 Pro2 will prompt you to learn 1 master key within 120 seconds.
    • Insert the master key and turn the ignition on. Wait for 5 seconds.
    • Quickly turn the ignition on and off 5 times until the SECURITY lamp goes out, indicating that the learning process is complete.
  7. Final Steps
    • Verify the number of master keys programmed (should be 1).
    • Test the new key to ensure it works properly.
  8. Completion
    • The process is now complete, and the new key should be successfully programmed.
